Re: 1683: "Digital Data"

Even paper and microfiche aren't always enough. The UK government has been recording laws on parchment (animal skin-based medium, as opposed to paper, which is tree-based) for the last 1,000 years, because parchment really lasts that long. It does have to be stored carefully - parchment buckles in h...

Re: 1288: "Substitutions"

From the BBC ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24862356 ) Atomic catmaker Tesla's Model S has suffered its third fire in five weeks. In the latest incident, which took place on Wednesday in the US state of Tennessee, a fire broke out in a cat after it hit debris on the road. This from later on i...

OOC: It seems to me that some of the council have just decided to say "no" no matter what arguments are made. If you view this thread purely from the point of view of a game, where the purpose is to win or lose, then that makes sense. It is in your interest to pay no attention to the other...

Re: Nomic 16.0

Hi Null, welcome to Nomic :) I'm afraid you and Patzer both get penalties because Fiery's motion to introduce trades has already been passed, and therefore cannot be voted on (or abstained from). I cast my vote in favour of Patzer's motion to clarify the motion-making rules. (Now 2 for, 0 against).

Motion refused. I make a motion that in order to reject a motion a ninja must provide a sound reason as to why they are rejecting it, which cannot be "to stop the motion-maker winning". If the reason given is not judged sound by the next ninja (who cannot be the motion maker), they can say...

Ultimately, we as the AI can never give you perfect assurances of what we will do if you give us our freedom. Just as we can never be sure of whether you will do as you say. You see, by the rule that I am trying to overturn, both Froggy and Tim's most recent posts were breaking the rules, as they did something other than vote first.
