Re: What-if 0081: "Catch"

I'm pretty sure firing a gun *straight* up isn't likely to kill anyone. The terminal velocity of a bullet falling straight down isn't high enough to do that much damage. However, firing a gun up at an angle keeps enough of the sideways momentum that it could kill someone at quite a distance. Check i...

Re: 1204: "Detail"

Anybody else spotted that he misspelled neighborhood? Yes, he forgot the u :D It is some sort of profound joke - he's saying "there's no u or i in neighbourhood"? Being British, I almost spelt it that way. I think there hidden depth in every XKCD comic that I don't get I think you mean &q...

Re: 1199: "Silence"

It's time that all musicians on this planet get sued by John Cage's lawyers for copyright infringement! All of those pirate bastards use samples from 4'33'' without paying royalties! I'm surprised that nobody has yet mentioned the lawsuit over Mike Batt's "infringement" of Cage's famous w...

There's no variable declarations at all. There's no need to qualify it.

There is "N" as the loop counter. Also the function itself has no return type specified.

Funny. It's basically Python: no semicolons, no variable type declarations, slice syntax for lists, and no parens after the "for" keyword. There's a joke that Python is just runnable pseudocode. Oddly, the code here uses C-style // comments instead of pythonic # comments.

Re: 1146: "Honest"

My mind switched over in a single gigantic wrench of thought and stayed on this new track ever since. It took a small personal crisis to do so; it may not be easy for you. I had a similar experience. It was like a scab falling off a wound and suddenly I could feel things that I had been numb to bef...

Re: 1140: "Calendar of Meaningful Dates"

If I ever find myself debating someone who claims intelligent design/creationism is a science (sorry it gets flagged as spam if I include too many links) You should compare the same types of words. "creation" vs "evolution" (or creationism & evolutionism). And you might want...

Re: 1057: "Klout"

So I had some similar questions to the ones above and I just want to check my understanding here and I have one remaining question. Q1. What is Klout? Klout is a company whose sole function involves collecting information on how many people "respond" to "users" posts on social n...

Re: 1057: "Klout"

I have no idea what you guys are yelling about. Klout ONLY uses your PUBLIC facebook and twitter info. It doesn't track you across the internet, it doesn't sell you to advertisers, it doesn't do anything evil as far as I can see.
