Re: Python/GTK/Glade Help!

You probably want a ScrolledWindow with a Layout or possibly a DrawingArea inside it. Check the tutorials . Setting up a drag n drop interface can be tricky. Start with something simpler, such as clicking the source and then the destination. Yeah, I was thinking it was going to be something like th...

Re: How Do I Learn About [n]?

I don't think anyone has posted Dive Into Python yet. http://www.diveintopython.org/index.html

It really has helped me pick up the language and it's available for free online. The book is also currently being updated for Python 3.

Python/GTK/Glade Help!

So I decided to write an application to help with DMing a DnD game. I want to write it in Python using Glade to design the interface. I want to have a tool in the application that will allow the user to create a map for use in the game. This would consist of a grid with a number of squares that they...

Newzbin invite

I hate to do this, but my friend who has an account seemed to have gone off the map for a while...

So I just got a Giganews account and now I need a Newzbin account, but I need an invite. So if anyone could hook me up (briguyd@gmail.com), that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Re: "New Pet" Discussion

i would like to add a USB port to the shell also. for battery recharging and software updates Edit: should we start a new thread in the general or science forum so we can discuss proper bluprints :) Updates could be done with bluetooth or wifi, but recharging... either an external port or just open...

You could just have the magnets on the inside rotate, and the platform will follow. Easy solution.

Re: C Question - malloc, realloc, and strings [SOLVED]

I knew there was something like that, but the requirement for the course is something like I have. Kinda have to follow the teacher's instructions if I want a good grade  .

C Question - malloc, realloc, and strings [SOLVED]

So I'm trying to create a function that lets you input a string in C for a project, and I'm having a bit of trouble getting off the ground. Here's what I have: #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> #define MAXCHAR 80 char* getString(int MAX); int main() { char *text1, *text2, *new_string, *position...

I can also hear the TV on. It freaked my friends out once when we were walking up the stairs to one of our classes and when we were still one floor down from the room, I shouted "Yes! We're watching a movie today!" because I could hear the TV on and everyone just wondered how the heck I fi...

I second (third? (fourth?)) the demand for a poster. Funniest comic in a while, and that's saying a lot. There's just so much stuff there, I couldn't stop laughing. (Now after I get a poster, I'm going to replace the one in my classroom with it).

I'm almost 100% sure I'll be going. I'll be at Boston College at the time, so it's only five miles or so. Someone will have to tell me how to get there, though, because I'll have almost no knowledge of the area by then (I'll be a freshman). But that's later. I'll forget that sort of thing if you te...
