I grew up in Colorado and don't remember much from before it, so it might be more accurate to say I've been away from Colorado.

Re: 2039: "Begging the Question"

"Nauseous"'s common meaning can cause confusion when it collides with the medical definition, which approaches "actively vomiting or dry-heaving". …so what exactly is going on with the word "nauseous"/"nausea" here?  At one point a long time ago I thought it ...

Splitters! I wasn't aware these were separate camps, I've been hanging out with the Banana Ecumenicals who claim that other primates open from the small end because they don't like the butt-end of the banana either, and opening from the small end removes it. The typing notification could be worse. Remember that collective document editing thing Google did for a while where you saw every keystroke other users made? They were talking about using that technology as a messaging app: you could see what people were typing as a reply as they typed it . You ca...

I'm not sure how roundabouts could possibly be better than intersections. I despise the roundabouts here in DC and I swear it doesn't help traffic much at all, especially with bad drivers. Google decided to route me through Washington Circle at rush hour recently, I think they thought it would be a...

I'm not going to bother denying that examples of racism happen in some places of the United States, much of the deep South included. Something of a tangent, here, but I am reminded how intensely people living in southern states often resent being stereotyped as racist. Not meant as a pointed statem...

Re: Blatant racism in class

The problem with saying that you can just prove the stereotypes wrong is that the people being stereotyped more often than not believe the stereotypes THEMSELVES. Despite what you said on the last page, a large part of self esteem comes from the way others perceive and act towards us. When, from a y...

In elementary school we were removed for one day a week from one of our classes(reading, probably) and sent to another room where we did projects such as building model bridges and planning a road trip. We stopped saying it after middle school. We had to say it in Spanish as well as English in middle school though, so that was interesting. :| I don't really have an opinion on this.
