my genital region only gets trimmed. i use my electric shaver for this task, i'm just too fucking scared of the blades. once i tripped and trimmed my sack, that hurts definitely more than a cut in the face.

It probably IS struggling. Cleaning it out is the best option, maybe a drop of oil/silicon spray on the bearings. I asume you're smart enough to realise that it should be on a pillow etc? never EVER put oil in your fan! it attracts even more dust and sticks it up completely. my laptop fan makes fun...
