This is for the original poster: i think the cheap little adapter you got is just a physical adapter so it actually fits in the outlet. i hate to pick at the accuracy of a comic, but isn't that transformation wrong?

Wouldn't it come out to be

[ cos(90) sin(90)] [a1] = [a2] = [-a1 a2] in his notation
[-sin(90) cos(90)] [a2] [-a1]

anyone else work it out or was I the only uber nerd?[/img]
