Re: 0942: "Juggling"

I wonder why they lost momentum. This can't just be simple anti-gravity.

Re: 0914: "Ice"

I literally just heard this legend for the first time about 4 days ago in English class. It was an example, since we were writing our own urban legends.

By the way, exactly the same thing happened with the trochee comic as well.

Well, in sports the numbers are results, and in D&D they are the mechanics. It's hard to say what their relationship is then.

Re: 0865: "Nanobots"

If the nanobots ate and presumably replaced 40% of the Earth, wouldn't they start compressing each other once they got too thick? Also, how would the survivors know how much of Earth had been consumed if all they could see was the surface?

Re: 0860: "Never Do This"

I don't know, maybe I underestimated the sense of irony of the xkcd forum users... You must be new here. Well, I really meant sensing the irony in me not answering him. I am well aware of how people notice the exact wording of comments, but I didn't know if people would have noticed my lack of answ...

Re: 0860: "Never Do This"

I don't think I'm going to dignify that with a reaction. Too late. Good point. I had thought about that before posting. I decided that it wouldn't count as the type of "reaction" böaldas meant, and that it would be better than not doing anything and hoping people would just get the messag...

Re: 0860: "Never Do This"

In terms of whether or not God exists, if He does, then you must assume his values. We don't consider it much of a playground for everyone, just rather a sanctuary of pleasure between two (and only two), each being of the opposite sex. Excuse me but we ? I think you're kind of making an assumption ...

Re: 0858: "Milk"

I sort of saw the comic as a more "random weird thoughts go through my head" from Randall instead of just a sexual joke. Similar to various ones about raptors, but with a different subject.

Re: 0852: "Local g"

Being further from the center of the earth means there is a stronger push "upward" due to the rotation of the earth around itself? Then wouldn't pole vaulting at night be much more efficient due to rotation around the sun? Actually, wouldn't it be better during the day, since the sun woul...

Well, would enough athletes have beaten their predecessors by 2cm to form a mob either.

Not to mention that said mob would have to include those who were bested, since there is only one current world record.

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

I live in Maryland, and we learned about world geography in 6th and 7th grades in middle school. I can't speak for everybody, but I think I have a fairly good knowledge of the world. I'm pretty sure I could have divided up some of the larger areas of the map better (such as most of South America), b...
