Well if it's some blanket thing I feel a bit better about it, but it still seems a strange way to go about things. I would completely accept it if I had been all 'Oh me yarm fuk u mods happy birthday man', but my post was pretty much "Wait, you guys weren't being heavily tongue-in-cheek? Man, I...

I don't know whether that's going to happen anymore  My earlier post pointing out my surprise that the initial barrage was not, in fact, tongue-in-cheek, and offering a birthday hug, was deleted, and i found a PM in my mailbox giving me an 'official warning' for going offtopic or posting in off...

I was fully expecting to, upon checking the forums this morning, find that was the case and everyone was cheery and pleasant, with no restrictions placed upon who I can give birthday hugs to.

A-april fool's, guys?

I was just reacting to the fact that at face value this whole thing seems to be a pretty unpleasant way to treat a man on his birthday. Admittedly though, I have absolutely no knowledge of the context behind it and therefore should probably be keeping my mouth shut and, indeed, my arms closed.

Somebody here must have played the worms series of games. My current one is worms Armageddon. Do you play online at all? I just bought Armageddon recently, as hardly anyone plays WWP online these days. Anyway, the only way you'd have to worry about wind would be if you were using a bazooka... perso...

The thing is though, if you believe that the human mind is deterministic and therefore free will does not exist, those legislating for and administering the punishment have no free will in the matter either, making it something of a moot point. I'm aware of the way that argument can be used to argu...

I suppose that this raises the issue of punishment. If a person can only make a decision that it thinks is right (just as a computer does) than is it acceptable to punish the person for that decision? I am of the opinion that it is acceptable because it will give that person an incentive not recomm...

it comes down to roughly this - i don't respect suicide. as an act, a resolution, or any number of its forms. if you commit suicide you lose a great deal of respect in my eyes. i would be devastated if any of my friends were to top themselves. but i would also view them in a much more negative ligh...

That's true. However, the combination of the manner in which the 'harsh view' has been expressed here, and the apparent disregard for the wellbeing of those currently suffering, suggested to me a lack of understanding. Regardless of the validity of that though, my main point was that even if one is ...
