Hey! I'm Alorah, the 'Nerds 2^2 Ever' girl who set up the teaching circle (ha. haha.) towards the end of the day. For everyone who came to teach us something THANK YOU! :} We learned about probability, how to make rope from certain plants(!), a hell of a lot about cones in the eye, and many random f...

So many of my role-models and mentors over the years seem to have found direction after falling in with international societies or living for an extended period of time in a different culture. Is travel out of th...

I don't think refusing percieved condescension (or even innocent disillusion) is any indication of doubt in one's womanhood.

Man, so many cultures were so interesting, but in a lot of cases being female seems like it would limit the options of being quite as happy. If I could be a man, being a Viking would be seriously awesome with or without America. I love the ocean's presence in their culture and Scandanavian mythology...

It was in an online chat conversation. Hey, ask a question get an answer. I tend to agree with Hodge. If you take the time to type out "considering the concept that variations on a theme is the crux of creativity" and don't take the time for a heads-up it can come off as more detached tha...

A Utahraptor, since it's probably big enough to put a saddle on, which would be amazingly awesome. YES! I bet the percentage of people on this forum who've had this dream is ridiculously high. I remember writing a story about this in elementary school, my teacher was a bit perplexed. I would want a...

Hello! I've been lurking around for quite a while and decided to go ahead and register. So, an introduction longer than "not a bot": The first xkcd comic I ever read was Substitute, which was more than enough to draw me in. I really am terrified of raptors -- part of my childhood involved ...
