xkcd on math literacy becomes math irony

Seen on Facebook:

Image

The original:

http://xkcd.com/verizon/

The original was a joke about math literacy. Somehow, Facebook users screwed up the math totally and made it terrible too

Re: PS3 security is broken

Update: Sony screwed up the signing of binaries. Through a series of earlier hacks, it was possible to derive the private signing keys. The reason they could derive the key was because Sony used the same "random" hash for every key. Why, this is so stupid it's almost kind of... familiar.....

Re: Kid O.D.'s live on webcam while 4chan users egg him on.

I am surprised that someone would want to refer to themselves as a /b/tard at all. That's the reason it comes from the ugly insult "retard". Most people can only act as /b/tards with the promise of anonymity. Luckily for us all, it appears that people will soon be able to go to jail for b...

Re: "Making Hash Browns" Discussion

xkcd usually has a passion for accuracy so I am disturbed to see this comic violates the basic laws of physics. If you swing the racket forward at the potato with the intention of slicing it, it won't be launched towards the plate but rather it would fall on the ground after slicing. The guy should ...

Fate? Damn, what world are you in? Some people assert that I have no choice but to play "The Game", that everyone is playing, because that's the rule. I reject such arguments. This is how you win, guys. You break the "rules." I've been telling people I won for years now and it j...

Actually, simplifying spelling is just a baby step. As long as we're trying to get rid of archaisms that we have to remember arbitrarily, let's reformat English's vocabulary and grammar as well. When we're done, the grammar, vocabulary, and spelling will be such that every letter makes sense and eve...

Apparently the idea of using Navajo which is an entire language with its own syntax and grammar, instead of an easily breakable code, just blows your mind.

Defining entropy as disorder's not complete, since disorder as a definition doesn't cover heat. So your initial definition I would now like to redraw, and offer one that fits thermodynamics' second law. First, we need to understand that entropy is energy; energy that can't be used , to state it more...
