Re: What-If 0087: "Enforced by Radar"

Whenever I see one of these signs, I get a picture in my head of a short bespectacled US Army company clerk from the 1950's pointing a loaded teddy bear at my car.

Re: 1279: "Reverse Identity Theft"

OK, on the "srsly" side of things: spend the lousy $20/year or so to get your own hosted domain name. Granted, johnsmith.com is probably taken, but johnandhelensmith.com probably isn't. Gotta be less likely to get reverse-thefted than anything@gmail.com . About 15 years ago, I got sick of...

I registered an account on here just to say that I'm the exact same way and I have never known anyone else to be as weirded out by the idea of eating lobsters as I am. It's especially bad when I go up to Maine where my dad grew up and it's people eating lobsters everywhere. Time to start a list, th...

Re: What-If 0030: Interplanetary Cessna

I've never seen the Icarus story as a lesson about the limitations of humans. I see it as a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.

I want this on a T-shirt. With the graphic of Icarus spiralling out of the Titan sky.

Re: 0979: "Wisdom of the Ancients"

The point is to have a very simple system for collecting problems and just their solutions in one place for easy access. What do folks think of the idea? Such a site would be a valuable resource. But. What would motivate people to post there? ... - being a part of the community - getting more point...

Re: 0979: "Wisdom of the Ancients"

What's needed to solve this problem is a site where someone who has had a problem and found the solution can write up the problem and its solution, without all of the irrelevant crap. Imagine a "new problem solution" page with fields like this: ... What do folks think of the idea? Couldn’...
