Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

I third the Fruits Basket recommendation... You might also try Angelic Layer, Lovely Complex (Love Com--though in this case I can only say I've read the manga), His and Her Circumstances/Kare Kano, hmmmm there are lots of others in your general bracket-but I'm mostly just reading manga presently so...

Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

I hate to break it to you guys, but Nanoha isn't about little girls, for girls. It variously has appeal as a shonen fighting anime and something for the lolicon; these were the intended demographics.

Also, I like CCS too. And Azumanga is shonen. All in all, not the most girly catalogue possible.

Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

Anyone watched Tytania yet? It sounds like a complex script, so I wanna make sure I go with a good subber... So far the two who have released ep 1 are Aero, a former speed sub group who admitted having trouble with the script and apparrently suck, and Deer Subs, for whom this is the first release. ...

Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

A bit of digging/asking around suggests that Kannagi will have singing/dancing later on, the idea that being a teen idol will attract the admiration of others, augmenting her godly powers. I can't find any pages from the manga that show her dancing, though. Only a few pages that show people surfing ...

A horrible and inevitable though just came to mind. They're going to try dubbing SZS at some point aren't they? Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

NO DANCING? Well, in any case, the OP didn't put me off. The girls look cute, so I'll try watching it for them and see if there are other merits. EDIT: Well, it's pretty entertaining. Pretty typical kind of dynamic between Jin and Nagi, but handled reasonably well. There are some male protagonists w...

Re: Go Away Dub Watchers: The Proper Anime Thread

I decided to get the first ep of Kannagi after being linked to a Youtube of the OP, even though dancing anime isn't my usual thing. My only worry is that, considering much of that dancing is probably rotoscoped, the rest of the animation isn't going to look nearly as good.

Re: Anime!

I just finished Gunbuster (slower than slowpoke, I know) and it was pretty amazing. I didn't really feel the downgraded animation (black and white, letterbox, wtf?) detracted too much from the final episode, and if it did "OKAERINASAI" easily made up for it.

I think that "nani" is a "what?" in Japanese, but I don't know if that's anything to do with it in Korean. Regardless, they were probably feigning ignorance of the language to conceal their gameplay knowledge and get lulz.
