Re: cannot access xkcd

To clarify what's going on here, I think ST hit the wrong quote button in quoting Mapar. I figured it was something like that. I just wanted to bring it up once, because the thought of New York in Belgium was kinda funny, but I didn't want to seriously derail the thread with miscommunication antics...

Randall, get out of my head.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but not only is the internet serious business, but there are people being wrong on the internet.

This must be corrected with due diligence.

So...

Is it silly to bring up the fact that Cory Doctorow's balloon cannon makes a boingboing sound, or did everyone else just see the joke and not bother mentioning it because it's just an "obviously" sort of thing?

Re: "Finish Line" discussion

I feel the need to compare this comic with last week's episode of Survivor , wherein the only guy left, who was on a individual-immunity-winning streak, was somehow convinced that he needed to give up immunity in order to have a shot at winning the game. There were only 5 people left out of the 20 t...

Re: "Zealous Autoconfig" Discussion

I just get the clear impression that if the character was wearing a black hat the last panel would have him sitting with his arms crossed, impressed at this new discovery. Or he'd be getting annoyed that the program isn't going as fast as he'd like. I'd imagine, if it were up to Black-Hat guy, the ...

hahahaha this comic is awesome! Truly an instant classic. *scooch scooch* I hope this is supposed to be a parody of a dumb fanboy post. Not every xkcd comic is going to be an "instant classic." The Choices series is an instant classic. Exploits of a Mom is an instant classic. Startled is ...

But since dead pixels don't happen on CRTs, the matrix is LCD. So degaussing would not exist?

You're right. I was looking at the previous version of the matrix.

Re: "Future" Discussion

There are so many ways to interpret this. The first thing that came to my mind was this: it sounds like the guy (I'll call him "our hero") is in the future (since he alone is in the third panel), asking the girl to explore it with him. As in, to jump ahead to the future. She's in the past ...

This comic reminded me about my achievements in AP tests.

I took 4 AP courses in High School.

Got a 5 in Calculus AB
Got a 4 in Physics B
Got a 3 in US History
Got a 2 in Chemistry

I wish I had taken English, because I knew I'd get a 1 and, as a result, hit for the career AP cycle.
