Re: Recommend one artist

Crazy new local band from my city started up a progressive hardcore or post-core band and just finished their fire demo. Wicked riffs, solid drums, cool vocals. It's kind of dance-y and happy for "hardcore" but still pretty heavy at times, hope you like it. http://violencecalgary.bandcamp....

Re: Is Music Mathematical or Abstract?

I think your question is far too generalized to be answerable by a single solid conclusion. Also as was mentioned above Math and the Abstract are not really on the same plane of comparison, both can co-exist in a system or not. To put my own two cents in, however, I feel as though when I write percu...

Re: The Most Beautiful Piece of Music

Claire De Lune - Possibly the first composition I have ever been emotionally attached too. I heard it first time when I was about 12 years old and have been in love with it ever since. Been even trying to learn it on piano for the past few months, but I suck too much to do so.

Re: Your last and next concert?

Does playing at a Festival count as going to a concert?

If yeah then I'm playing some large festival in my City this summer with a bunch of cool indie and other such bands.

Re: POST YOUR MUSIC HERE and actually Listen too! (Rules in

Thanks Robert! Fun and fucking with the audience is our two biggest themes for that album. Our next one is going to be a play on Entropy. I think it'll appeal to a very few hardcore Math-rock fans in this world, darker heavier and far more complicated than I thought possible. I can't wait to see if ...

Re: POST YOUR MUSIC HERE and actually Listen too! (Rules in

I originally posted this as it's own topic, but I was told to do otherwise. I figured this is the best place to showcase my band without breaking typically agreed upon rules. IILS;YLS It's really difficult for me to generalize what genre this kind of music should be classified as there's influences ...

Math-Rock-Rocks

Hey, My band had recently come out with a new album in the Post-rock/Math rock genre and I figured some of you folks may find some appreciation for it. I'm hoping to get it out to as many people as I can as well as get as much feedback as I can. http://ifilookstrongyoulookstrong.bandcamp.com/album/i...

Re: Need some help with this equation!

Wait -- are you trying to find a function from Z to X, or find out what Zs solve for a particular X? You have a function that goes from Z to X. I assumed you wanted to be able to invert it? Correct. Just want to invert it for a particular X At the end of all this I still need to know an equation of...

Re: Need some help with this equation!

Bunch of work. This stuff seems to make sense however it still doesn't seem to solve for "Z=" since W is just Sqrt(z). I also tried putting all that in my calculator and I checked over the work and I don't get it to equal zero. -.-;; If you put Z = 2000 in the first equation I get 29.6759...

Re: Need some help with this equation!

x = (4.318*10^(-3))(Z)[1+ (14/(4+(Z/1000)^(1/2)))] This formula is not for Coding just FYI. It's a formula to calculate flow in a sanitary/sewer pipe. San Flow = (Avarage Flow)( Peak Factor) Flow = 4.318*10^(-3)(Population)*(1+ (14/(4+(Population/1000)^(1/2)))] A Certain pipe size will have a max fl...

Need some help with this equation!

x = (4.318*10^(-3))(Z)[1+ (14/(4+(Z/1000)^(1/2)))]

Now assume I know X and I need to manipulate the equation to find Z.

I've tried it a couple of times and the Z inside the square root (to the power of 1/2) always screws me up.

can anyone help me out please?
