Re: Blatant racism in class

The problem with saying that you can just prove the stereotypes wrong is that the people being stereotyped more often than not believe the stereotypes THEMSELVES. Despite what you said on the last page, a large part of self esteem comes from the way others perceive and act towards us. When, from a ...

Re: Blatant racism in class

I would completely and utterly disagree with your hazarded claim; subconscious racism is infinitely more prevalent than overt racism. That's exactly what I meant. "These" refers to the subject in the sentence before it. The best way after all, to resolve a problem is by agreement before y...

Vellup, you still aren't getting it. Perhaps you could help the discussion by telling us what exactly you mean by 'old world/style racism' vs what people have pointed out to you exists today? Looking particularly at Kulantan's newest article, most modern racism can be described as people being raci...

I have yet to read an enjoyable piece of fanfiction, but I have to admit, most amateur original fiction is hardly any better in comparison. Re: Blatant racism in class

You yourself said it. Placing the responsibility on minorities to prove racism wrong (as if proof it was wrong were needed!) is not a way to solve racism. That was brought up a while ago. I addressed that directly here: I'm not saying people deserve to be stereotyped because of where they are--what...

You seem to be operating under a hilariously backwards notion that racism ONLY is only due to those who are stereotyped. Which is so astoundingly counter intuitive, I hardly know where to start. As a minority race, you can't control the people who believe in a stereotype as well as you can control ...
