Re: "Space Elevators" Discussion

Since Gary Gygax? Good call :) And I would like to thank XKCD for spreading the "mencia is the destroyer of all that is funny" philosophy. It is true in every way. I think more than just the laughter would stop if Mencia was on every channel though... that would pretty much be the end of ...

I Second this. The unplugged album is the only Nirvana album that I still listen too. It is, was, always will be my favorite stuff they did even if most of it was covers. :P

Re: Cool games on the interweb

Eh, I tried Travian a while ago when I was really bored, but I was fairly underwhelmed by it. I play Ogame myself, and Travian seemed to offer little that Ogame didn't. It had cheesier graphics along with a less skill-based combat system. But then again, these kind of games really are all about the...

Re: Cool games on the interweb

http://www.travian.com I did a search and the only reference to Travian was in an intro thread, so hopefully I didn't miss the obvious gigantic thread about it. This game is a much simpler browser based version of civilization. You can spend a couple minutes a day or many hours building up yo...

Re: scariest game moment - ***spoiler warning***

AvP2, first level, marine, hardest difficulty. I thought I was dead for the first twenty minutes I was playing, and NOTHING FREAKING HAPPENED! I finally start to relax and then BAM! I'm running backwards through air ducts with just half a mag of pulse rifle ammo and two aliens hot on my heels (toes...

Re: What is your favourite book?

Picking one book is waaaay too hard, so I'll just pick several and take up a lot of space :D American Gods - Mr. Gaiman. I really love the integration of ancient mythology into our modern world and how he pictures what 'gods' would be doing if they were hanging around today. Hairstyles of the Damned...

Re: What game has caused you to utter the most profanity?

Definately God of War. There was a part where you had to use the "underwater dash" to outrun this giant pillar that is trying to crush you and unless you did it exactly right you instantly died. I died... a lot. Also in the trials, the level in which you have to kill 90 bazillion skeletons...

Re: Fight Club

I liked the perspective of the book a lot more than that of the movie. I think that being in his head as opposed to watching things happen third person changes the context in a favorable manner. It makes the reader more interested in the character instead of just wondering what Brad Pitt is up to. O...

I have to give props to RE1. That very first zombie cut scene freaked me right out!

Also, RE4 is full of awesomeness... even though I still haven't finished it after owning it for almost two years. Damn the world of warcraft!!!

Re: POST HERE FIRST - INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hello! My name is Josh and I only wish I was a bot. I was directed to xkcd from questionable content and have loved it ever since. I hate to admit I have been trolling a bit for about a month, but such is the life of an internets troll. A little bit about me: I am 26. I live in Los Angeles. I work w...
