Re: The Australian Year 12 Exam Rant Thread

Yes, yes it is.

98.15 - I'm happy with that. Now if we imagine an alternate reality where the physics paper actually tested physics, might have been higher, but I think I make my course so it doesn't matter anyway. Awesome.

Re: Time travel paradoxes

I've always thought that if a universe can prevent its inhabitants from travelling at faster than light speed, and violating mass/energy conservation, then it might not be that far of a stretch to theorise that a universe can prevent time travel paradoxes. Also, if 'flipping' to antimatter can get a...

Well if you're sure Vox ain't the jester, I'm leaning towards voting for him. Can't you protect yourself, btw? Assuming Vox is mafia, or anyone else for that matter, I'm finding it hard to read any scum pairings into what's been said.

Re: MINI: Newbie Mafia

Shit how much time have we got left? Not many new thoughts on my end, I've been to braindead recently - sister's birthday etc. Only thing I've got is a fleeting suspicion that Vox might be the jester and purposely acting semi scummy and hoping we pick up on it, but I'm not sure if that was dashed by...

Oh also one more thing - I was going to say I had a hunch that we were all townies or mafia, but it turns out there's at least one special character. ninja'd. Isn't it lylo now? Say we lynch a townie, then mafia NK's a townie, that makes it 2 v 2, and mafia win. Out of the 4 remaining civilians, only 2 need to be persuaded to vote against a teammate and the mafia can just add their votes on top and win. On the other hand, to vote out a mafia, all...

Both party leaders called for stronger bi-partisan relations in their closing speeches, is this the usual rhetoric or against status quo? Assuming the latter, would it ever work in the US? Based on anecdotal evidence :D

I think the theory goes: Well fuck me if I can think in a straight line. It's much more natural to think in an outburst of awesome, and this is how I represent that on paper. It's just another mnemonic that's suited for a certain type of thinker.

Re: Dumbing down education - Are the "best" systems really good?

In regards to 'dumbing down' standards, isn't it an attempt to make more people do better? In the sense because it's not so hard less people drop out and consequentially learn more than if it was much harder? Although it does have the unfortunate side-effect of making those people with increased pot...

Thanks for the replies guys, this is starting to make sense.
