Re: Hardened criminals in Battle Royale for freedom

I'm not calling strong people murderers. I'm not even necessarily even talking about murderers, at all. I'm talking about a prison population. I don't care why they're in there. But they're finding the one best at clubbing people into comas, by trial and error, or trial by fire, as it were, and lett...

Because being vile/brutal/a killer/whatever relates to boxing prowess... how? When you think of all the good boxers you know, what comes to mind? Big guys that can take and give a lot of punishment. Yes, there's more to being a boxer than purely being a tank, but still... Making generalizations, bu...

So, basically, they're finding the most hardcore, brutal, killing machine out of the whole bunch of unspeakable unfriendly people, and... letting him out. The problem is, the whole "they did this, no they didn't" schtick is not useful debate. If I wanted to, I could probably find people claiming B'Tselem is not to be trusted, since they are a propaganda mouthpiece, or whatever. I personally think they do some good work, but they are pretty s...

Because even if your killing-spree succeeds in destroying Hamas, you've done nothing but convinced an entire population that Hamas wasn't just the only option, but the best option. If you really believe this, how can you believe the invasion and bombing are a good way to go about that? Hasn't the current campaign made that effective government and police a lot less likely? The people the people of Gaza wanted in power are now dead, and the alternatives are likely to have been...

I suspect a lot of anti-China sites will spring into existence whose only purpose is to bleed the China government for troll money and simultaneously get a lot of ad hits. That's a good move. He implied very strongly that they should like it. The argument was basically that Israel did X Y and Z to damage Hezbollah, and the Lebanese don't appreciate it. China's '50 Cent Army' invades the internet

A recent article by Mike Elgan of The Raw Feed and other techno sites claims that China is hiring internet users to go forth and spread good news of China on the internet. Yeah, I get it. I'm not saying "aw, it was just an accident, no need to arrest them or anything". I'm talking about pragmatics, not right and wrong. Theoretically Hamas should be punished for what they've done, should be forced to stop sending rockets. In reality the smartest move in a ba...

True, but Fatah itself isn't labelled as a terrorist organization like Hamas, and they're far more moderate--or at least pragmatic, and its the best there is right now among the Palestinian leadership as a partner for peace. I think they should ignore Hamas completely and do what's best for the people of Gaza.
