Re: Logikion, the new Sudoku?

The problem in your construction is that, because you didn't rearrange the numbers, you can solve it as a regular sudoku. It is just a regular sudoku but simpler to solve because you gave more rules (clues...). I think it is far more difficult to construct a real logikion and that it is unlikely you...

Granted. And your night's sleep is sooo good that you'll never wake up again. Sweet dreams.

I wish I had free flights between UK and France in order to see my girlfriend again.

Re: Looking for hard and rare logic puzzles

Thank you for your website Trebla I didn't know it. I'll try to solve the "Gods of Gibberland" puzzle. I am thinking of a function f:ℝ→ℝ. You pick a real number c and I tell you the value of my function for all x except for c. You must guess f(c). What strategy can you use to maximize your...

Re: Looking for hard and rare logic puzzles

You are presented with two indistinguishable envelopes and allowed to choose one. Each envelope contains a real number, and the numbers are different. You open your envelope and see the number inside. Now you must guess whether the number in the other envelope is greater or less than the number in ...

Re: Looking for hard and rare logic puzzles

@Qaanol : I dont' quite understand your puzzle. How can you elaborate a strategy when you can just say "more" or "less" ? Knowing the axiom of choice is it a necessary condition to find the answer of the other one ? @swfc : this puzzle seems interesting however I find the descrip...

Re: Looking for hard and rare logic puzzles

I have a very good version in French, because it was an exercise of logic in Ecole Polytechnique that a friend of mine showed to me. I could try to translate it if you want.

Looking for hard and rare logic puzzles

Hi everyone, For a very long time I looked for hard puzzles on the internet. The kind of puzzles I like is actually very difficult to find. I'll explain it : I like puzzles that can be easily explained, that seems impossible to solve a priori and whose answers make you think intelligence or logic is...

Re: Need Help With French Grammar Check

In French you won't say "chère belle" it sounds really weird. The second paragraph sounds ok (actually I'm pretty amazed, google translate is usually less efficient). For the first paragraph I would say : Ma chère chère beauté, Mon enfant, oh Chell ! (Je la respecte... Je la respecte, ) Ad...

Mathematics applied to robotics

Hello, I'm currently a student in a French general engineering school and on October I will be in Cambridge, UK, where I will take a Master in Mathematics. I am fond of robotics (and particularly interested in the algorithmic part of it, artificial intelligence etc) and I don't know what majors to c...
