Re: 1787: "Voice Commands"

Re: 1443: "Language Nerd"

Too bad the comic didn't include any nounifications.

Re: What-If 0069: "Facebook of the Dead"

I believe the answer fails to take into account the possibility of removing one's profile from Facebook. I do not know many people who have done so (temporarily disabling it is more common), but I know some. Now, I know this is just anecdotal, but the vast majority of the folks I know who've removed...

Re: 0916: Unpickable

What's this "5x5" stuff? It's a 5x5x5 cube . Nope! The "5x5" has nothing at all to do with the cube's dimensions, obviously! (Otherwise: either it would be "5x5x5", or it would be just "5", or Randall would have made an error, and none of those can be the cas...

Re: 0916: Unpickable

I was going to say "do you have any idea how much time I'd waste trying to pick that?", but it's clear that yes, yes, you know exactly how much time I'd waste that way.

"When I was One, I had just begun. When I was Two, I was nearly new. When I was Three I was hardly me. When I was Four, I was not much more. When I was Five, I was just alive. But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever, So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever." -- "Now We Are Six&...

Re: "Dirty Harry" Discussion

where when have you seen a laser in real life that needed to be in "burst" mode. In fact, the very first laser ever had to be fired only in "burst" mode. It was a ruby laser that had to be "pumped" by a flash lamp. You can read up on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Re: "Designated Drivers" Discussion

See now, this is exactly why even at the age of 41, I have still never learned how to drive. It's literally illegal for me to be the designated driver.

Re: Rock Band

Am I the only one whose first thought was, "I wonder what song those notes are from?" Sometimes I can pick things like that out, but I'm not actually _that_ good at reading music. Thoughts? Well, looks like "green, blue, green, blue, yellow, orange" to me. Without more informati...
