Re: In other news... (humorous news items)

Last time I had a £50 note it was in Canary Wharf, when I withdrew £50 from an ATM. Then I went into a sandwich shop and used it to pay for a sandwich. The cashier didn't even blink, obviously that's completely normal in Canary Wharf.

Also, a lot of the right's pro-Israel stance seems to just be about preferring them over Muslims. This doesn't necessarily mean seeing Jews as equal to Christians. Ant-Israel sentiment on the left is more driven by seeing all people as equal, including the thousands of Muslim people losing their liv...

Problem with replacing the A-10 is that it was designed to deal with Soviet SAM batteries and armored columns. To properly design a replacement system you have to have a credible threat to design it against, and there's no military forces that pose that kind of Cold War armored tank threat to the U...

I think the F22's would've been a better choice. For who? The F22 isn't sold to other countries. As for the F35's performance. The UK has entirely gone for the F35-B (jump jet) variant, to take off from our carriers. Which is even more limited in terms of manoeuvrability, range and weapons. Still, ...

Indeed, whatever way the decision went it would cut both ways. For example if they'd ruled against the bakers, anyone would be able to force gay baker (or anyone who supports gay marriage) to bake a cake with "NO TO GAY MARRIAGE" on it, or even worse. I guess there'd still be a limit to th...

The core issue is I don't think there's any clean way to define 'art' at all. Still seems that the only workable brexit option is staying in the EEA. Unfortunately for the Tories they've painted themselves into a corner by ruling it out.
