Re: "Mission" Discussion

comic...ok

the alt-text really made me laugh...

i wonder how accurate that is? Is it possible that a few million scones are made everyday, at a 1 : 6 ration to everything else in the world? I'm now curious...

Re: Electrical Fields Question

I solved it myself.

D1 = [(D1+D2) (Q1)^1/2]/ [(Q2)^1/2 + (Q1)^1/2]

That got me the right answer, 7.1cm. Happiness..I has it...

Electrical Field Questions

I have been chugging with this one for a few days now. Every time i think i have it, it turns out wrong. A 1.8 uC charge and a 2.2 uC charge are 15.0cm apart. Find a point where the electric field is zero. Express your answer using two significant figures. Enter the distance from the required point ...

Re: XKCD COMICS IN REAL LIFE

yeah, i know he doesn't. I just wanted a general concensus if it was a good idea, or just random crap. Might email him. As for backgrounds, doesn't matter. A good camera can blurr the background out. It wud be kinda hard to do some without backgrounds... but i think i shud contact Randall. I'm sure ...

XKCD COMICS IN REAL LIFE

Had this idea...unsure if its been done before. What if we ran a mini-comp for each XKCD comic? We declare a comic each week, that people have to try replicate IN REAL LIFE! So for instance, Nerd-Sniping would be hilarious to try and reproduce (the Nerd getting hit by the Truck..SFX and all).. So..w...

Re: Firing a Bullet Conundrum

but then what is to say the bullet actually LEAVES the barrel? will it stay in the barrel, or will it move at all? I also assumed that the opposites velocities would cause minimal effect (knew vectors wud be worth something oneday) but then I wondered what wud happen to the bullet? If it leaves the ...

Firing a Bullet Conundrum

I dunno if this one has been done before, but it caused some serious grief in my household today. Here is the scenario: You are in a vehicle, travelling at 1000m/s North (directions make it easier to understand). While on the vehicle, you face south, and fire a gun. The bullet travels 1000m/s as wel...

Re: To Be Wanted Discussion

this really hit me. I registered just to comment. I love the serious xkcd comics. Of all in the archive, the barrel series must be one of my favourites.

I'm glad we're back to basics. This really is one of my favourite comics in so long...
