Re: "Security" discussion

Now retna scanners are a little more difficult to fool. Depends how ruthless you're willing to get. Ever seen Minority Report? Actually I have no idea whether an eyeball that has been physically removed from the socket would pass a retinal scan. Given that the retinal signature is based o...

I dunno', I'd bet most xkcd'ers know their recent Supreme Court Justices...

American readers maybe, but xkcd readership is global. Here in the UK, the reference went straight over my head. :?

Re: Quantum Teleportation

Looks like the wikipedia page has been twerked recently. The upshot of this protocol is to permute the original arrangement ((a,b),c) to ((b′,c′),a), that is, a moves to where c was and the previously separated qubits of the Bell Air turn into a new Bell Air (b′,c′) at the origin. The history indica...

Re: "Holy Ghost" Discussion

Shouldn't one of the Ghostbusters be black? Although come to think of it, I guess Randall can't draw races. Because clearly we're not having enough fun with the religious aspects of the comic, so lets bring race into it too! Tbh I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out. My initial reaction ...

Re: "Keeping Time" Discussion

I've almost fallen victim to this practice myself in supermarkets when a store manager using the tannoy cuts through whatever song is playing. Don't think I've ever stumbled, but it can cause serious mental anguish in the biscuit aisle. I also was wondering what the tune would be, but when I found o...

Re: "Journal 2" Discussion

PLEASE let this be the start of a story arc! How will Black Hat fare without his hat? Has this encounter changed him forever? Will he loose all his powers of class-holiness? Maybe he could buy a new hat, but would that ultimately be the same? Will he be forced into an epic, life-changing quest to Fi...

Re: Urban dead (GRAAAH!!!)

6 zeds is hardly under siege... pop over to the fort or the mall in Pitneybank and we'll show you what it's like to be under siege :) Heh, I've yet to see a full-on horde in action. :) Still, I thought six zombies vs. four survivors trapped in a building was slightly concerning. I'm probably being ...

Re: Urban dead (GRAAAH!!!)

Hello xkcd group! I've arrived in Parslow, you guys seem to be under seige with about 6 zombies outside when I last looked and cades falling rapidly.

Do we have a plan?

Edit: Ran out of AP re-'cading up to VSB. Anyone around to help?
