I think that for something to actually be a good standard, it has to be well specified, publicly available for anyone and free to implement. Otherwise there will be groups that for one reason or other cannot implement the standard ...and how can it be a standard then?

I would suggest gate logic since it is the gate (oh dear ¬_¬) to the digital world. Too keep it from getting too theoretical, at first at least, it should not be done in some simulation program, and preferably real clicky relays instead of 74x circuits.

They are awesome! At first the drawing style and overwhelming colours make it seem a little cluttered, but it's an adaption thing, and once I get the "flow" it is very much enjoyable. EDIT: and the language/vocabulary is funny too. EDIT MK II: It's a kitty!
