Re: 1949: "Fruit Collider"

This comic made me ask if there isn't a periodic table of fruit elements. I wonder how you would sort that? And which elemental fruits could you put on it? Like only mandarin and grapefruit but not orange, because it's a mix of the first two.

Re: 1534: "Beer"

I didn't start drinking beer or anything that cointains alcohol until I was about 20 (which is quite late, since legal drinking age for beer is 16 where I come from ;) ). I just chose not to drink it and my friends accepted it. I had the same experience. Started drinking alcohol (moderately) at age...

Re: 1459: "Documents"

The only thing worse than "untitled" documents in a documents folder are important files in a TEMP folder or the recycle bin. Had people panic when I told them I cleaned their computer by deleting the TEMP folder and emptying the recycle bin. Apparently a lot of people keep all their docum...

Re: What-If 0004: A Mole of Moles

"One pound is one kilogram" Am I missing something? He's not saying they're equal, just that they're the same level of magnitude, for the purposes of a rough back-of-a-napkin approximation. You only have to divide by 2 is not really an approximation for me. 1 kilogram = 2 pounds, everyone...

Re: 0978: "Citogenesis"

Two years ago, Germany got a new Minister of Economics who had a dozen or so first names. Some guy added a name ("William") to the corresponding Wikipedia entry. The following day when the newspapers brought the story they all included the made up name which proved that they all had copied...
