Someone help me identify this map of middle earth

http://i34.tinypic.com/2liifjk.jpg I found this at Goodwill some months ago. It took me a moment to recognize it as a map of Middle Earth (partly because of the art style, partly because it was sitting upside down) at which point I promptly bought it. Trouble is, I can't figure out where it was ori...

Re: Post your computing setup

Posting my current situation for the amusement of the masses. I have a brand spanking new 3.0GHz dual core cpu and 4 gigs of ram, but due to a fuckup on my part, I have no video card. Due to practically nonexistent onboard graphics, I'm trapped in 800x600 resolution, one monitor, 16 bit color, and a...

Re: Download drivers when you can't download

Had to figure out which of the 8 different long strings of characters printed on my motherboard was the model number, then go through newegg to figure out what kind of ethernet controller that board has, then go through the wrong website for an hour looking for driver downloads bef...

Download drivers when you can't download

I picked up a new computer at a garage sale yesterday. The CPU is pretty slick, so I put the new motherboard into my old case with all my old equipment, and put the old motherboard together with some other older hardware to make a new computer for my computer-illiterate mother. Her new computer is w...

Re: Help me unfuck my webpage in IE7/8

Adding a doctype seems to have fixed the alligment problems in IE8. Can someone check to see if it looks right in IE7? Also, the text in top navigation is bigger in IE than in other browsers, which is messing up the height of the cells there. Anyone know how to make the text look the same in all bro...

Re: Help me unfuck my webpage in IE7/8

Generally one of IE's largest problems are with misinterpreting the box model in CSS...but since your layout is done with tables (and this computer doesn't have IE installed) I have no idea what's happening. If you're redoing your website I would seriously recommend taking a look at css for layouts...

Hoping this is the right forum for this. I'm in the process of rebuilding my website. Here's the new index page. The other pages will be the same, but with different data in the main text box. Ender and the Kobayashi Maru

After some googling, I am a little surprised to see that this isn't one of those hotly debated topics among the people of the internet. This seems like something important that we need to work out. How would Ender Wiggin win the Kobayashi Maru test? I say 'how' rather than 'if' because, let's face i...

So my mom got what is clearly a scam email, and sadly for me, is a devout believer in it. Logic isn't working too well and I don't have high hopes for proof working either. Basically the scam is: The email includes six email addresses. You send all of them a dollar, and then forward it to a whole bu...

I've been known to go out at any time between 10PM and 5AM. I once walked to walmart at 2AM in 20 degree weather on christmas eve.

Problem is there's nowhere to walk 'round here, so I mostly just end up walking to walmart, which is super close by, and buy junkfood.

I always thought John McClane's catchphrase was pretty stupid. Plus the genius writers apparently failed to realize that they could never put it in a trailer. If "Why So Serious?" is any indication, the trailer is one of the few places where a catchphrase actually works.
