Re: 1460: "SMFW"

How I read it in my head: [Shake my face when] an acronym almost makes sense Title text: [What the fuck when] it's like [shake my head off] [to be fucking honest], [Internet Movie DataBase]. Gibberish, of course, but that's the closest I could get to the most common internet acronyms, which is sort ...

The steamboat had a sail. A steamboat with a sail is an affront to nature and really pisses God off.

I need a third axis for how long you will continue to do the task. Randall, please start making all charts like this in 3-D.

How about a soft plastic flapper on top to act as a brake/splash guard?

Now taking bets on how long it will be before someone to actually build this.

The line in the title-text is too long for Twitter. "The Red Sox can't make the playoffs (championship games), but in last night's game their win seriously damaged the chances of the Yankees (longstanding rival team)." is 164 characters long. Strangely, the length of the string without spa...

Technically, you're only immortal if you outrun death, and I don't think these are designed with running in mind. Actually, that kind of shoe is supposed to train you to run better. Heel-toe is not very efficient or fast. Running without heel striking is better in pretty much every way (though it d...

I've always (well, as long as I can remember) had a sort of zen view of coin rolling. Hello, folks. I've been reading xkcd for years, but I only recently began regularly using the forums (I would sometimes peek in with a mobile device to see what the hover text said, however). Now that I've reached the 5 post minimum, I suppose it's time to do some shameless self-promoting. I run the...

In that situation, I usually end up selling parts, but I use laptops until they die. If your hard drives are still good, use them as extra storage for your desktop and either sell or recycle what you can't use. I do like the media center idea others have suggested, though.

I'm assuming there's always only one door that leads to freedom. First we don't know how many guards tell the truth and how many don't lie. That's a good one. Although, I think it's better without the line about their dot. :D Yeah, that's the difficulty with it. If their cross product is zero, that just means linear dependence, which could be taken to mean they're pointing in opposite directions. The dot product makes it clearer, but i...

This one's a political/math joke. As you can imagine, I've had trouble finding an audience for it.

What do you get when you cross Rick Perry with a bigot?

Spoiler:
The zero vector. Also, their dot product is the square of his length.
