Re: 1982: "Evangelism"

I've thrown out all my socks and replaced them with the same kind before. Need to do it again soon, picked up various non-standard socks over the years and have it's made pairing them up after doing laundry difficult again. Just got back to one-sock mode. The last time I'd bought socks they looked ...

Re: 1832: "Photo Library Management"

The left hand side seems odd to me - if I'm not taking any photos, but I spend all day going through my photos... I think I've got a problem. I still have photos taken with my Sony Mavica, 1.1 mp, storage to floppies, $700 for early adopters like me. Greetings, fellow Mavican. I had a later model - ...

Turned down the Coke aisle in the supermarket the other day to find that it was now ordered Diet - Zero - FullFat, rather than FullFat - Whatever - Didn't care.

They're making me walk 5 metres further.

This is the Beginning of the End.

Elsa! Why did you freeze summer again? It's odd that based on what we see, it only takes a couple of days for everyone to declare it an 'eternal winter'... > The Atchafalaya offers a steeper path to the Gulf of Mexico, but if it captured the Mississippi's flow, it would leave the major ports of New...

Re: What-If 0119: "Laser Umbrella"

If you had a suitable laser and a good enough aim, could you get somewhere by deflecting raindrops rather than vaporising them? Or is the path of an individual raindrop too unpredictable? That's what I was thinking - the ink drop video seemed to suggest a decent deflection effect. Of course, now we...

As a colleague's wife was expecting, we naturally, started a pool on arrival date, sex and weight... with our usual rider that anyone nailing all three gets to name the child. Two girl's names stuck out in particular. And I have to concede, Norbert is a pretty good name for a girl. But, let's face i...
