Re: 1190: "Time"

Note that the flashback to the bucket in the ocean already told us that the 40 have gone. Perished or moved? We don't know yet. We didn't even know about the 40 until it was necessary to say it within the story itself. Brilliant work. I'm definitely on the hook with finding out how this pans out. I...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I've been following this comic (and thus this thread) since the beginning of Time... and I must say, the new turn of events have me saddened and amazined at the depth and breadth of this comic.

Re: 1190: "Things that are on my side for 600, Alex!"

I think it's only good to choose a religion name once there's a clear majority. You'll just have to drop the bottom options and do a run-off between the top 3 (okay, maybe 2).

Re: 1190: "Time"

Adding to the madness: I've been watching this thread since Monday, unfortunately have skipped huge sections, and finally here to say... what could that ball be? Only another minute to wait I guess.

... and now I note that you haven't posted here that much. I really am a jerk. I disagree that you're a jerk. The other forum I frequent has both "reply to thread" and "reply to post" capabilities, and it tells a person at the top of your post if you have replied to a specific p...

Re: Games you can't remember the title of.

I can't tell if you're being hilarious or if you actually think I was responding to you. Everyone else can see Felstaff, right? I haven't been hallucinating him for the past few years? Felstaff is here. I was responding to Jorpho, who suggested an ecological game about dolphins. The ability to tell...

Re: Guild Wars 2

I am super excited for Guild Wars 2, as I played Guild Wars 1 extensively (got to my 30 HOM points), and I'll be re-joining my old guild for the sequel. If people want more info, I've been in all 3 beta weekends and a few stress tests, plus I am trying to learn more of the lore.

Re: Games you can't remember the title of.

No, it was a very realistic, almost historical fiction-type game.

Re: Games you can't remember the title of.

Note: all of this comes from a super vague memory of a game I played a 15-20 years ago. I might be unintentionally making parts up. * Background : This was an educational computer game, point-and-click, about whaling and the evils of the whaling industry. I had the name "Secrets of Josiah Quinn...

Re: 1070: "Words for Small Sets"

A couple is 2 or 3. A few is 2-5. Several is 5-14. Fuck a handful. Here here. I often use couple and few interchangeably, and I had no idea this was perceived as incorrect by some people until a friend raged at me. I agree with those who have said, "why should couple mean exactly two when you ...

Re: 1044: “Romney Quiz”

Step 1: Create an absurdist comic that, while topical, does not inherently carry a concrete statement. Step 2: Post it for your left-brained fanbase, most of whom literally make a living off of problem solving. Step 3: Make some popcorn and read your forums. I was thinking exactly this. This comic ...

Re: 1044: “Romney Quiz”

Long time reader, first time poster. The "Who said what?" trope has been used for more than political candidates. The first time I saw it, the version was Charlie Sheen vs. Muammar Gaddafi, and pretty classic: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/quiz/2011/mar/01/muammar-gaddafi-charlie-sheen-q...
