Re: 1534: "Beer"

I'm gonna go with Randall just wanting to mess with our heads, and to see how many die-hard beer lovers are gonna get upset. I don't like beer. And I suspect this has more to do with genetics than acquired tastes: as somebody else mentioned, some of us are "supertasters" and are more sensi...

Re: 1309: "Infinite Scrolling"

Really not a fan of infinite scrolling. Thanks to both the "losing your place" thing and "loading" thing. The next batch of entries/images/whatever do not always load automatically. Gah... As for finding the "next/last" buttons: has anybody come up with keyboard command...

Re: 1213: "Combination Vision"

Hi Grapheme–color synesthets! I'm very curious about this, I wonder whether it's an association with the grapheme itself (specific assembly of bars and points make a colour) or its meaning (how you interpret the sign make it colourfull). Re: 1213: "Combination Vision"

As someone with deuteranopia, I've often suspected that what other people call "color" is actually just a manifestation of a particular form of synesthesia. Huh. Never thought of it that way. I have number->color synaesthesia (associative), but not strong enough to pick out the two number...

Re: 1053: “Ten Thousand”

I'm with Randall on this one! Why lose the chance to turn somebody's world inside out? 30's too young. Days when I'm the one asking after something "everyone knows" happen all the time for me, and I'm 31. When I visited Australia a while back, there were 33 of us, and we quickly learned th...

Re: 1048: "Emotion"

That comic looks awfully familiar. My older brother was diagnosed with cancer (non-Hodgkins lymphoma) when he was 12. I can't imagine what that must have been like for my parents. I was eight, and I don't think I quite grasped that he was near death. Looking back at pictures when he was bald and scr...
