Re: New Delhi Meet up?

Ohai! Wonder where the Indians are. Am far far away from Delhi though: right across to the southern tip - Trivandrum. :)

Re: What is your favorite number?

One number I loved as a kid was 4294967296. It was the longest number when entered on my dad's calculator, which gave whole numbers (down all the way to 2) upon pressing the square root button repeatedly. I loved to know it by heart, and at one point was even a password ;)

First XKCD comic strip that you saw

If you remember well, which xkcd comic did you stumble-across/read first?

Mine was this: Bored with the internet. http://xkcd.com/77/
Happened to see it when a friend put it in a blog post of his.

Re: Raspberry Pi

Currently, I'm looking at running XBMC on it so it can be used as a media server. I also want to get some sort of download client running on it - be utilising torrents or newsgroups, or both. I am currently stuck with an internet connection that gives me unlimited data-transfer from 0200 - 0800 hrs...

Re: Yet another comic downloader [python]

fnull = open(os.devnull, 'w') os.system('[ -d xkcd_downloaded ] || mkdir xkcd_downloaded') fnull.close() This doesn't seem to do anything? Oh right, my bad. I was playing around with alternatives to using os.system, and ended up using the latter in the end. Forgot to remove the definition (and clos...

Re: Yet another comic downloader [python]

Thanks for the JSON tip :) And like I said, I ended up doing this after wanting to teach myself regex, so ended up this way.

Re: Regular expressions problem set

Most of the times I ever set out to learn something, the only way I'd actually end up learning it for sure (and not stall halfway) was when something came up that required me to use it (and hence, learn it from scratch) :D Coming to regex, you could try doing a lot of stuff with the html sources of ...

Yet another comic downloader [python]

I decided I was going to teach myself some regex finally, and had gotten to loving tinkering around with python a lot, so built this xkcd comic downloader. Input: Specify a list of comics (3,4,463,556,1008 etc) or a range (400-500) or a combination of both (3-100,102,105,107-200) and the script will...
