Re: Australian Election — Landslide

I remember noticing the swing %s during the coverage, Labor was waaaaay down, but the libs were only up a little bit. Looks like a lot of people went minors & independents. Palmer has been in the right place at the right time, it seems. I'm predicting we're on our way away from the 2.5 party sys...

Re: In other news... (humorous news items, etc)

We had a little kerfuffle in Australia recently with a reasonably prominent Indigenous Australian football player being compared to an ape by a broadcaster who I suspect still doesn't fully understand why that's so stupid, and another broadcaster writes a fantastic article about privelege and insti...

Re: So Planetside 2 is free

I agree, tank mines vs deployed sunderers is massively OP and definitely not Working As Intended. Doesn't mean I'm not going to exploit it for maximum certs & tactical advantage though. I've used the C4 on my engineer perhaps, once? Have tank mines do full damage on being run over, half or 1/3rd...

So we can expect the tank mines nerf in about 8 months, then? :P

I'd be upset if they remove the ability to pop deployed sunderers. But if you can still trigger them with explosives that's fine, and we can still do the biolab spawn room trick.

I will temper my enthusiasm for this game by saying that it has a lot of issues, being an alpha. Major cheating occurs, with people spawning tanks and airstrikes and other things that aren't supposed to be in Day Z, and a large fraction of people will disconnect when fired upon to avoid death, as t...
