Blue Cheese

There is a cheese thread, but I wanted one specifically dedicated to blue cheese. I need some good blue cheese recipes, that feature it, have in the background or anything. Snacks to entrees to dessert (I'm sure somebody has a blue cheese dessert). Even if it's just "Stick a slab of blue cheese...

There's this meat pie made in Britain. This is all I would want, but minus the gold leaf, that's just silly. Add either a nice bottle of red, a Guinness, or an ice cold Alexander Keith's.

Re: Celebrity Cooks that you Enjoy Copying

I without a doubt will have to say Jamie Oliver, but also, Michael Smith. I started cooking when I was 8 or so, after watching my dad. By the time I was 14, I'd watch Mike Smith on Chef at Home , which inspired me to cook without recipes. Now, I just go into the kitchen and look around and create th...

I don't think you guys understand the difference between free market capitalism and anarchocapitalism. 1) Where did anyone advocate eliminating the government? 2) Did you have a point other than "I think I am smarter than you guys." Ixtellor 1)Anarchocapitalism amounts to "anything a...

Zuchinni salad is quite simple. Get about 3 full zucchinis, and peel with a carrot peeler. Peel the entire thing until there is nothing left. take these shaving and put them in a bowl. Marinade 2 diced tomoatoes, one medium red onion, chopped, and 3 green onions in balsamic vinegar and oil for an ho...

Re: Books you wouldn't recommend to a friend

I am deeply saddened by the lack of support I seem to find for the Sword of Truth series. Though Ihave endured and sometimes agreed with comments about Pillars of Creation and Naked Empire, the series itself I found was inspiring, and in a word, epic. Epic in the conventional sense, Goodkind wrote a...

Your hyphen is misplaced. You have used the word "ass" in conjunction with "books. Can you really be on an xkcd forum and not understand that joke? It was deliberate... http://xkcd.com/37/ As for cheap ass-books, I'd recommend the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. 'Bout 10 wal...

Something bugging me...help

I found this when sorting through some old notes of mine, and for the life of me I cannot figure it out. 3c - 12d = -5 and 4c + 6d = -3 find c and d given those equations, and then: 6g - 4h = 9 and 5g + 3h = -2 find g and h given those equations. Thanks in advance. edited: thanks to keeperofdakeys

A Prisoner of Birth and Jeffrey Archer

Hey, I just picked this book up yesterday at Chapters. I'm about 1/4 of the way through and it seems actually pretty intriguing. Has anybody read it? Is it worth finishing? Also, what does everyone else think of Jeffrey Archer's writing in general? I think he's an absolutely brilliant writer. I've r...

But this thread should still be mainly about red meat, since undercooking poultry is pretty much always wrong. Many people consider duck red meat and it can be cooked to order safely. i thoroughly enjoy making napalm. gasoline and styrofoam, just dissolve the styrofoam until no more does, then i find the best/coolest/safest thing to do is either pour the mixture onto a fan, light it, then turn on the fan (works best with old metal fans), or just pour designs on concrete and light...

I like to listen to a Scottish band called Mogwai, you've probably heard of them, but they do nice wordless (or heavily distorted lyrics) songs. Some of them really build up alot to a big finale and it's just amazing sometimes. An obvious example of this is their song 'Stop Comming to my House' . I...
