I think the contrast could be to give an impression of the sea, the lines being crests of shallow waves at a narrow angle (almost parallel) to the beach. That could explain why the lines seem the same.

I haven't contributed much I guess, but I have been thinking about a possible explanation for the gray. Maybe we are just observing a passage of misty hazes, all alike. OK, we are feeling fogged now, but it will (be) clear. After all, we still just have to wait for it... And a philosophical question...

What I would like to know now is: Are all numbers equally cool, and if not, is there a least cool and most cool number in ℕ? Heck, ALL numbers are cool! Which is, of course, easy to prove. Suppose not all (natural) numbers are cool. So the tide is coming in now perhaps? This comic reminds me a little of a very boring graphic novel, Le goût du chlore, by Bastien Vivès, btw. I would love a printed version of Time. Since I asked about what to call it, there has been a few comments using the words TimeWaiters. I will now change my listed religion on Facebook and see how many others by now list TimeWaiter as their religion.

I guess I would have typed

If it isn't apparent already, the ideal steak is highly subjective and arguing about it is pointless if you like gooey chewy bloody steak you're doing something wrong. Well, de gustibus non disputandum. I like steak tartare and carpaccio - and a grilled steak should be nice and brown on the outside...
