Re: What-If 0141: "Sunbeam"

Surely I'm not the only one here who noticed the connection with Star Wars, seeing as this scenario is almost exactly what the First Order does in the movie, draining a sun of its energy and using it to blow up planets? I find it hard to believe Randall wouldn't have explicitly referenced Star Wars ...

Re: 1518: "Typical Morning Routine"

I could see this happening, if there was a house in existence that has a grate in the bedroom floor large enough to drop a phone down.

Re: What-If 0099: "Starlings"

Another article to add to the list of What-Ifs that involve inexplicably dumping a large quantity of something in the middle of space.

Re: 1282: "Monty Hall"

Of course, if you got the car you could buy many more goats. And hire people to clean up after them.
But realistically, the car has got to be behind the leftmost or rightmost door, because there wouldn't be room for a whole car between the other two rooms that are filled with goats.

Re: What-If 0045: "ISS Music Video"

Okay, so it's not the most expensive music video ever, but is it the most expensive third-party music video of another artist's song?
Just wondering.

On a side note, nice use of the "[citation needed]" tag.

Re: What-If 0020: Diamond

A 100-foot diamond traveling close to the speed of light? Sounds like the asteroid from The Dig! Except that one magically slows down before hitting the planet... :?
And it wasn't entirely clear if the dodecahedron was made of diamond, but I'm pretty sure it was.

Car Speed

Since Randall didn't actually say the speed you'd have to travel at to perceive red as green, I'll finish his calculation here: Car speed = 300,000,000 m/s * (sqr(0.000000635 m) - sqr(0.000000532 m)) / (sqr(0.000000532 m) + sqr(0.000000635 m)) Car speed = 52,546,961.82 m/s = 189,169,000 km/h So abou...
