Re: "SkiFree" Discussion

I started jumping up and down when I saw the first panel. I played this and Chip's Challenge OBSESSIVELY when I was a kid.

Is that torture panel a Reservoir Dogs reference?

That ear scene ruined that song for me.

Re: "Disaster Voyeurism" Discussion

See, I too, live in Florida, and I always wanted a hurricane named after me. The one time it actually happened, though, the storm decided to turn around and dissolve somewhere in the ocean. I was kind of ticked off...it was like my CHANCE to be talked about on the news for weeks on end. Also. Wouldn...

Re: 18 TB flash drive

*chuckles*

I want to make my flash drive do this. It would make for a great story. I can trick my non-tech friends into thinking that all flash drives have this extra space on them, but they won't let us use it because it's unstable.

Re: Just for fun... Best buy (etc) employees don't know.......

Well, needless to say I fixed the system in about 20 seconds with the question "Have you installed a floppy drive in the system since you purchased it?" Apparently the tech who approved the replacement didn't see a floppy on the origin shipment so assumed the computer was broken. So not o...

I had one when I was in high school. I never really enjoyed them until I was part of band (well, technically, color guard). We only did them once a year and we went to a private, catholic high school. We had a "spirit stick", and they would have the different classes (Freshman, Sophomore, ...

Re: "Parking" Discussion

In my boyfriend's apartment complex, the entire line of parking spaces are too small. As a result, even if I park PERFECTLY centered, I open the car door and the line is right at my feet. Same on the passenger size. I often drive a Civic. There is this one doucebag with a HUGE truck that likes to pa...

Notice how they refuse to increase the amount of money he gets. How is that fair? He had twice as much radiation damage, he should receive twice as much money and compensation from it.

Re: BSOD: Vista worse?

My Vista laptop would BSOD because it had a bad driver. After the first time it happened, it actually figured out which driver was acting up and downloaded a new one. Bizarre, I didn't even have to do anything to it. I'm surprised that ME isn't getting more votes. If I remember correctly, that was k...

After reading this comic, I clapped my hands in glee and called my boyfriend over to read it.
He's Spanish, and it took him a minute to finally understand why it was so great.
Le sigh.

My problem with Apple is more with things like this . o.0 I am not surprised. Three cheers for overpriced peripherals! I love how almost none of the reviews are positive. Just think, all those people paid $100 on something they aren't happy with. They should have gotten a terabyte hard drive instead.

So where's the comic where The Ring gets recorded onto a DVD and played back on a PS2, light gun(s) in hand? I'll tell you what I'd do if Somara came after me. I'd find that freaking well and stick the tv right in front of it. Then when she crawls out to get me, she falls right back into the well. ...

Re: Just for fun... Best buy (ect) employees don't know.......

The problem is a lot of the people they hire either think they know everything and don't pay attention during training sessions, or they learn just the basics and make up what they don't know. Not only that, but when the employees are trying to sell you something, they push the employee to sell serv...

A lot of the employees there rely on false information and as a result, spread that to the customers.
I was a technician at Circuit City and people would second guess everything I said because I was female.

So once upon a time, I had a teacher that loved "Office Space" and we purchased him a red stapler. He loved it very much, until one of the seniors accidentally on purpose, stole it from him. He went ballistic and yelled at a bunch of his classes about it. The next day, I got to school earl...

I don't think you can autoconnect to a network if the laptop is in suspend mode and closed; correct me if I'm wrong though.

Odds are, you're stuck with that blotch. You're VERY lucky it didn't fry your mobo. For future reference, people who experience wet laptops: * Don't turn it on for at least a week. Take the battery out. * Take it apart as much as you feel comfortable and soak up any visible water *If you aren't comf...

Take out your hard drive, grab a IDE/SATA to USB converter, get a working computer, and drag and drop your important files over to it and save them to disks.

Re: Buying a Laptop for College

I definately recommend a Lenovo with a 12 cell battery. It gets an excellent battery life and its honestly built like a rock. If you want a more "mainstream" computer, I recommend either a Toshiba or a Sony. I REALLY tend not to recommend Dells because in my experience, they have the worst...
