Well, time has slowed down, therefore the posts would do the same (its actually the same speed if you go from posts per newpix [nope didn't do the math])

Agreed. I found that I lost interest in Click and Drag much more quickly than I ought to have because the zoom versions sucked the magic out of it. And I just couldn't resist. I find myself in the opposite situation. I work so goddamn much these days that what would normally be a fun time sap can l...

on first look it's pretty good, runs mirrors edge with full graphics and physx very smoothly, I've downloaded a couple of the samples from nvidia's site (the rock formation one is very cool Cascades http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/cool_stuff_uk.html ) as for other hardware, I can't remember exactly b...

Re: Graphics cards

I went to the shop today and got it for just over £100, not a bad price tbh...
I'll let you know when I've plugged it in and seen what it can do.
if anyone's interested I got the card made by BFG as it had 1GB of DDR3 mem rather than the PNY's 512MB.

Why the hell is the wall curved? Is it a semi-sphere shaped room or something? I believe it is a dome, as domes tend to spread out forced applied to them equally, as can survive higher pressures than other shapes. more than triangular structures? which would be stronger... a triangular pyramid or a...

Graphics cards

My graphics card packed up the other week and so I thought now would be a good time for an upgrade. I normally err towards nvidia rather than ATI just through preference, and just searching through the best for the price appear to be the geforce 9800 gt and 240. It also appears that the 240 is newer...

Re: How does latency effect pc gaming?

I did read somewhere that the packet jump number (i.e. the number of servers between you and the hosting server) has more to do with lag than the ping time itself, though obviously they are not mutually exclusive, and one generally informs on the other. also headprogrammingczar, brilliant mod I love...

You could download a CD bootable Linux image (such as SUSE etc.), boot from that and then use the dd command (I use that a couple of times with hard drives I'm getting rid of) with the command dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/sda0 - of is output file and change it to whatever your hard disk is (probably sd...

I just had the weirdest thought: As our sense of balance is essentially liquid in the ear, and sound is essentially a movement or distortion in the medium carried (normally air), is there a sound which can make us fall over -i.e. certain pitch/volume at the resonant frequency of the semicircular can...
