Re: 2035: "Dark Matter Candidates"

There is neither dark matter nor dark energy; our model of spacetime is simply incorrect on intergalactic scales because we mistakenly assume the speed of light is constant for all observers. In actuality, the speed of light simply appears to change as you get further away. So if it only "appe...

Re: 1950: "Chicken Pox and Name Statistics"

The original workaround was having constantly replaced teeth. It seems like that only works out when they are all fairly similar, though, and mammals gave that up in favor of having very specialized teeth. You're forgetting about rodentia (AKA rodents). Re: 1828: "ISS Solar Transit"

Hate to be Captain Obvious, but this seems wrong in both cases...

1. Sun filter = not direct sunlight.
2. Reflected from moon surface = not direct sunlight.

If we limit the question a bit, by saying we cannot create new things to put in the box (jupiter gas, cheques, minting new coins...) and can only use existing valuables (RSA keyes for BTC, etc...), then stuffing the box full of credit cards/cash cards belonging to the richest people on the planet mi...

To be fair, the mountain range appearing from the floor would only look like that after years (ages) of erosion - when fresh, it would be just a raised floor.

I am saddened to see that in a forum which is supopsed to attract people who science, so many people, some of them probably scientists (not climatologists, but scientists nevertheless) disagree with ... actual climate scientists. Re: What If 23: Short Answer Section II

A C4 boomerang would be great! :P
To be more precise, a boomerang-shaped C4 package with a hard shell (made of something light that shrapnels well), with a remote detonation switch worn on the thrower's wrist.
Point, throw, pop if in the desired vicinity of target, or try again if not.
