Re: "Urgent Mission" Discussion

There are definitely better uses for a time machine. Like going back and getting Fahrenheit to use some useful references for his damned temperature scale. WTF, using your wife's body temperature for reference?! Also using a completely arbitrary mixture of water, ice and ammonium chloride as the ze...

Re: I bet you wished you voted McCain NOW!

But today a spokesman puts the vicious rumor to rest. “Not true, the President-elect uses an iPod,” he says. And the Philadelphia writer, Neal Santos, blogs today: “It could belong to one of the many Secret Service dudes that were at the gym, Michelle, or even one of his daughters.” This bothers me...

TheHand wrote:I said in the thread for last comic that Randall will occasionally go for the pun.

Hence: Tron Paul

I believe the alt-text pun was superior. In my opinion, the best part of this comic.

I'm a stickler for proper formatting and tradition. The other thread has no quotes, no image, and no first-post commentary.

Re: "Actuarial" Discussion

Back in high school, my friends and I made a pact to stay home from school and mourn the day Sean Connery died. Fortunately, we have not had a chance to call in this threat.

May the true Bond live forever.

I truly apologize for taking another crack at Paolini, but the instant I saw this comic, I thought, "That explains Paolini."

But then I thought... "Wait, he doesn't actually make up words, he steals them from Tolkien!"

Oh snap!

Re: How'd you come up with your username(s)?

When we installed our new server, my brother decided to name it Ogreswamp because Shrek had come out recently (really, that's the whole reason). So when we all got usernames, we used characters from Shrek. My brother took the title character, my other brother took the one I used to use (Donkey), Dad...

Odd Emotional Connections

Does anybody else make emotional connections with strangers for absurd reasons? For example, I was driving along, and a car with the same color and make as mine pulls in front of me. I instantly admire this person, and show them more courtesy than a regular driver. A tenuous connection, but still en...

Re: Gears of War has made me a scary person

What honestly scares me is when I try to quicksave in real life. Sometimes I'll think, "Oh, I'll probably be able to make it across traffic, but if not, I quicksaved!" And then I almost take the first step. I'd be consoled (pun intended) by the fact that my death would not be the first cau...

I just power-read through this forum, so sorry for any repeats: Oscar Had A Heap Of Apples (For trig, O/H A/H O/A. Just had to remember the order of Sin Cos Tan) Kings Play Chess On Fine Grain Sand (Kingdom, Phylum, Class...) Boron Aluminum Gallium Indium Thallium (Third group on the periodic table,...

Re: Think Before Naming Your Child

We have a family friend who told us that he has a friend (hearsay perhaps, the guy can sometimes be a joker) who named their child Abcde, pronounced Absidee. Now, out loud it's not bad, but the creatively uncreative spelling makes me wince.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hey, I'm Tim from California. I'm 17, fresh into college on course for a Biology degree. Later, I hope to go into Ophthalmology or Optometry. I joined because I loved the comic about stepping on floor tiles. I just thought I had OCD.

I tried this on a Google Fight to get a graphic representation. When I went to check recent fights, I saw two other "I should/shouldn't have" fights.
