Re: Empty Space

I think the lower threshold to allow for continual genetic variance is... 500? I'll go with 500 because I like sustainability. On a personal level I'd be comfortable with about 120 though. I read some really awesome article on wikipedia about how that's some sort of optimum number (I forget how I j...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

So I need some advice, I am currently in the USA doing study abroad, but I go home in 9 days! However, I'm on the pill (microgynon) and it's a 5 hour time difference from here to home, I was just wondering if anybody knew how the time difference will affect when I should take the pill? I usually ta...

Re: TSA responds to xkcd strip

EDIT: I may have mentioned this before, I forget, but I've also always wondered about whether, with whatever resources they have available, they could make guns out of nonmetallic components. Granted they couldn't make many, but you wouldn't need many to hijack a plane..... People have tried to mak...

http://i41.tinypic.com/ddnwra.jpg I like my pic, yay for angles! You look surprisingly familiar. But a familiar as in I maybe once saw you as a kid, but not since. HarleyQuinn looks kind of like SweetAfton23, over on Youtube, who, if she's not famous, ought to be, if only for the song "my hope...

Re: Postify your facerity

Generation Y. I don't remember the First Gulf War, but sneer at people who never used floppy disks. You know, a couple weeks ago, someone called my helpdesk and asked if we had a machine that would copy their floppy disks to a USB drive. And they they got all huffy when I asked if they meant a 5.25...

Re: Questions For The World

I can pretty much instinctively picture an inch (although not as exactly as a centimeter). Feet, yards and miles I have to convert to metric (well, if someone says "X is 100 yards long" I just think "a little less than 100 meters"). I barely know how much a kilogram is instincti...

" On the other hand, I'm useless at Imperial units of volume, even after growing up in the States. Even ask me how many pints are in a gallon and I'm useless- the only way I can deal is by converting to metric. " Well, most people aren't aware of it, but much of the english traditional vol...
