If you worry so much about battery life, why not just plug it in? How would that affect the laptop?

Also, it's a given that laptops' graphic cards can't be upgraded, so why not save up to buy new a laptop until the latest games come out?

My current hardware?

A Radeon 9800 AGP slot, IGB RAM, and a AMD equivalent of Pentium III. I got it in around 2004, it's capable enough to play HL2, but now I think it's too dated to play today's games anymore.
