I suspected it wouldn't work. I don't approve mistreatment of kittens, but the Kitten Engine concept sounds interesting :)

I remember reading about Woodward effect. Doesn't it basically work on the same principle as that of an oscillating box?

Could this, in principle, be exploited to make a reactionless drive? For example,imagine an oscillating box on the board of spaceship. The box contains a spring which is heavier when accelerated in one direction, and lighter when accelerated in the other. Reaction on the ship would tend to be bigger...

This has always bugged me: why is it always stated that someone _sees_ light travelling at speed - isn't it impossible? How do you see light? Isn't that true that you can see it only if it hits you? You certainly wouldn't be able to see light speeding away from you or just approaching.
