Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

Some parts of this sound a lot like the first book of The Sword of Truth series. Others... not so much. Was the 'stick' called an agiel by any chance? The cover for the first hardcover seems to be red but there is no fight. The boy and girl do fall in love but they only touch once in the first book...

Re: I'd like to know the name of this book/short story/comic

Alright, so here's my vague recollection of a book I borrowed from a library. It's a fantasy novel. There is a war going on, and some race is being oppressed (I think with blond or red hair). One form of gun like weapon was called a "stick" (I think), and shot fire or laser-ish fire or som...

I've used http://www.sendoid.com/ for single-use transfers, but it may not be the best option.

Re: "MicroSD" Discussion

I think about this every time I see my micro SD card. I ask people on my residence floor if it freaks weirds them right the fuck out that we have such massive storage densities, but they just don't think that way... the first memory device of my own was a 256 MB Lexar Media Jumpdrive... And I rememb...

Re: The XKCD Book Thread

not enough Randalls to sign them all. We need Randall-clones, perhaps? I'm somewhat annoyed right now with Canada Post, though I understand how it would happen. My book's been sitting in a Post Office for a day with no activity, and just the fact that it's already in my city causes my impatience. S...

Re: "RPS" Discussion

To re-iterate some posts I've already made, graphing calculators are a colossal scam, and a monopoly. Definitely a monopoly. The Faculty of Engineering at my university only certifies specific calculators (we have to get them stickered) for us to be able to use in tests, and they're all Texas Instr...

Thank you, Roger.
It's been a long time since I read up on RPN, I had forgotten about it. It's good to relearn things. I think this would have been at least somewhat funny for me had I understood it in the first place.

How did you check?

You can put the same US tracking number you got when the book shipped in at the Canada Post site, and find out what's going on.

Re: The XKCD Book Thread

Well, it's officially been 7 business days since the Wednesday signed copies were announced to be shipping on. My confirmation e-mail said 2-3 days. Should I be worried, or was there a delay in the actual shipping? Did you get the email telling you that the book has been shipped? I didn't get a sig...

I love the index as well. Luckily, I had just connected my Paypal account to my bank account so I could order this. Good timing for me, I suppose. Yes, at least two of them, one a permanent marker, and the other one of those 4-colour pens.

Granted, but since the LHC doesn't make black holes the US has to sell it for less than its construction value and goes deep into deficit, causing you to lose your job.

I wish that my high-speed internet was available where I live.

This semester, I started what I think is pre-Calculus in high school, and we got a teacher who is only here since she got laid off as a computer engineer. Our (half of the class that I talk to) main problem is that she's Chinese, and english appears to be her second language, making her annoyingly h...
