Re: 1190: "Thing that keeps slipping into the future"

I tin even picture some point in the far future (if we haven't turned this tiny blue planet into an barren radiation-fill wasteland), when the last few independent mechanical timepieces (watches, alarm clocks, etc.( have been relegated to museums and all devices be automatically set by GPS (or the ...

Re: 1190: "Thing that keeps slipping into the future"

Okay, it looks like Randall has started on a new batch of images... If you look inside each png, you can see a date-create and date-modify field. For a very long time now, from frames 2 through 258, they have all had a date-create of 2013-03-27. However, starting at frame 259 they have a date-create...

Re: 1190: "Thing that keeps slipping into the future"

Looks like the xkcd.com/1190 and http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/time.png both point to:

Hopefully the madness is now over! This one is 262, I believe.

Re: 1190: "Things that are on my side for 600, Alex!"

Okay, this is just weird, I thought I had figure out the pattern. The explanation was simple, the actual web page xkcd.com/1190 showed one image url, and the img source http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/time.png would redirect you to another url, but the same image. Initially that's how it was working, bu...

Re: 1190: "Things that are on my side for 600, Alex!"

I think it's strange that the image I see in the browser has a different url to the one shown on Aubron's web page: xkcd: f8b1ca928e8027868ff903f12f9a3e7396314a8cd13a5c7e8a724c6f718b324e.png aubron: a0912d58db16574d7defdfeda6f4dbb820986d0e6fb38e793e62f8da5b151d98.png These are both for image 255, an...

Re: 1190: "Things that are on my side for 600, Alex!"

Two more identical images:

This may have been going on for a while now, but I'd like to think it is winding down to an April 1st big reveal!

Re: 1190: "Things that are on my side for 600, Alex!"

Has anyone noticed that there are two urls for the current (March 30 12:00 noon, 253 on Aubron) image? b4438d37a73bec8234efdec9b2c6baaf1b39723f34e442c1db65a9860f3eda66.png and 506e4482b9dfda6906be12a0f08db916374545d56b4dcc23e220c63d777febd5.png Is this some weird goof or has it been happening for a ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Here are all the times in all the newpix so far: (I vote for newpix exclusively, and no newpic) 2013-03-25T00:26:49+00:00 2013-03-25T02:54:32-04:00 2013-03-25T04:07:07+00:00 2013-03-25T06:54:32+00:00 2013-03-26T04:35:41+00:00 2013-03-27T06:42:46-04:00 I haven't looked at the counts of which came whe...

Re: 1190: "Time"

One thing I've noticed is that most of the png files have a "date:create" and "date:modify" field inside of them. However, many of them have the same values. Perhaps we can figure out when he created sets of frames. Not sure what this can tell us, but I wanted to add it to the mi...
