Re: 1190: "Time"

It's worth noting the current frame number (1337). I wonder if Randall deliberately chose this frame to introduce a relatively significant object, or whether it was mere coincidence.

Re: 1190: "Time"

OK, that's a reasonable point, but is it still not the case that they have demonstrated a complete ignorance of tides, seas and rivers, in a way that is unrealistic for people as advanced as they seem to be? They drink from what appear to be skins, not plastic bottles. The Creator of Time, infinite...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Actually, Click and Drag only contained 225 distinct panels. Empty spots were filled in by solid white or solid black panels as needed. OK, n+224 would put us at frame 1437 (comic 1213), on 2013-05-18 20:00 EDT. However, how many different panels were there to Umwelt? Is anybody even sure that all ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Has somebody already calculated, when exactly the frame number will reach the current comic's number? It should be number 1210 and happen sometime on thursday, if my rough guess is correct. Are there any interesting meanings to that number? I could have done some math wrong, and someone probably al...

Re: 1190: "Time"

so...has anyone figured out yet at what point the number of people blitzposting will outnumber the number of people currentposting? My guess, based entirely on a refusal to collect the easily findable data, is that in about 150 Timeframes, the then-current newpage will be composed entirely of peopl...

Here is frame 969 (levels adjusted) as a semi-opaque overlay on frame 971.

edit: fixed frame numbers
edit 2: numbers still weren't right

Did someone try "four common word password"? hash: 71f8bd2fb10b55de688c4c758d8a25ea6a14608a52c3d834bf1b57aabbf83f57cbbffc4a6a55365bc1e3f8a7c5c792f3fe2a7fe089a8f961f94045f9767e3713d04d9a12dfe074cfb7c9d9b2a3ded47dbe2a0c9a0666919e880ef6406aa365c10e9691113c61eba7d4e9b0a89b8c066db5da806d2a58d5...

Re: 1193: Externalities

After clearing out the duplicates, Phoenix still stands at 399. At the very least whatever was typed to get that has not yet been duplicated. I'm not convinced that the duplicates were cleared, at least not all of them... I seriously doubt that someone managed to gather 12 unique 404-distance input...

Re: 1193: Externalities

Side note: The problems most people were having with hashes not matching up with XKCD's hashing system probably stemmed from using non-print characters. I set up my script to generate 512 bytes of random data then exapnd it to 1024 in hex characters before running it through the hash function. Prob...
