Re: "Keeping Time" Discussion

Never been in a marching band, but every time there's music when I'm walking I sync up to it. I do sing, though, so there's some music involved there... And apparently I'm not the only one who loaded up [insert notation software here... for me it's NoteWorthy] and used it to find out what the music ...

Plus, it would be rather difficult to get tuberculosis (or most other communicable diseases, for that matter), since there aren't any other people to catch it from. I would imagine landslides would be rather prevalent in Scotland, though, as any manmade cuts in hillsides or mountainsides would rapid...

Depends on what you mean by "fingertip". If you mean lifting from the joint that turns upward in that diagram, yes, and quite easily.

My index fingers (especially left) don't extend straight. Instead, it looks like this (adjusted for my not-too-good-with-Paint-ness): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/Maccabeus/indexbend.gif A large portion through the center of my right eyebrow can't grow hair, as I had a large cut there when ...

I like how the Italians solved the USA-person naming problem: statunitense.* It just rolls off the tongue so well (but then again, what in Italian doesn't?). :)

*From memory, and my Italian is rather bad, so it's probably misspelled.

I prefer my music with a good balance of both. Of course, I'm the horribly snooty "if it's more recent than 1900 it's no good" type of person, so I'm too busy overanalyzing the music to actually, you know, enjoy it, so there's no sense in messing with the balance. :P

She's not self replicating exactly though, she needs one component to begin the process. My favorite mathematical coincidence:

φ = -2sin(666°)

The 666 is bad enough, but the fact that it's a sine and thus spelled "sin" pushes it over the top.

Why did "sine" ever need to be abbreviated by a grand total of one letter, anyway? :?
