Re: 1190: "Time"

Yeah, it's pretty thick with this ever flowing soup of... what do you call them... humans, yeah, that's it. It's a very thin solution of Otters down there. Sometimes there's a catalyst that brings the Otter bits together and creates an explosion of molpishness, but it seems to be pretty rare. Thank ...

Re: 1492: "Dress color"

The garmet in that gif really is blue/black right? If that's the case, then that doesn't help me understand anything. I already understand how a blue/black garmet can look white/gold when exposed to harsh yellow light, but the infamous dress doesn't have nearly the same rgb values as the first frame...

Re: 1492: "Dress color"

Yeah, I have zero problem with the idea that the dress is a pale blue in the original image. White is often fairly approximate. We call stuff white all the time that isn't really WHITE white. But the most common color you get from white, I feel, is blue. Like, I call the color I'm typing on right n...

Wow. It's really *that* different to you? I guess I should probably say is it that "the same"? Do you see that others can see it as white/gold, or are you as flummoxed and gobsmacked as I am that there is even the hint of a disagreement on something as basic as colors - not shades, etc., ...

Re: 1492: "Dress color"

Yeah, but if you look at an Escher painting and are all like "whoa" I can look at it too and be like "whoa" right there with you. Hard as I try I can't see white. It's incredibly blue. I can see the brown tinge at the top, so I get people thinking the dress has a brown or bronze ...

Re: 1492: "Dress color"

Does the blue/black faction, looking at the original picture, see this blue/black? Or different shades of blue? Yes, those are the colors I perceived the dress to be the first time I looked at the dress, but washed out by the very bright yellowish light shining down on the dress from above making t...

Yeah, it does, For me, it looks like an image with brightly-lit, overexposed background and underexposed foreground . For that matter, look at the black on the cow pattern where it touches On the image, it's not black, but brown. With RGB values around (100, 80. 60), sometimes even lighter. True, which is a sort of very dark grayish brown. Though to my mind that's what you'd expect from a washed out black. If it w...

Re: 1492: "Dress color"

1) The comic has it backward. The dress isn't against a darker background making it appear lighter, it's in a lighter background. 2) There is no conceivable way that dress is white. There is literally white in the picture an inch away from the dress. Look at the cow pattern to the left, now back at ...
