Re: 1407: "Worst Hurricane"

Cyclone Tracey. Same as everyone else in 'Straya. There was that other one recently that I think was pretty bad, but I can't remember its name. Therefore it's not one I remember. Monica in 2006? That cyclone struck the Top End as a much stronger storm than Tracy, but further to the east so as to av...

Re: 1407: "Worst Hurricane"

As a tropical cyclone researcher, I dig this map. I could nitpick and second-guess both the comic and myself for hours, but taken at face value it seems quite accurate for most regions. There are a few randbob storms ("King" '47, 1941 in TX) that, while perhaps quantitatively the rainiest ...

Re: 1324:"Weather"

Surface pressure 960 mb is very low, and implies significant cyclogenesis has occurred. If that cyclogenesis was a result of the jet stream, as implied, we can assume it was more directly caused by a mid or upper-level jet streak , an embedded area of anomalously strong winds within the broader jet ...

Nice area! I'm across the river1 from the Catskills, but I spend a lot of time hiking up there. Cool pano. :)

1. Not all that small, but you could conceivably swim across it.

Re: 1190: "Time"

Now his water vessel is getting washed away, so they'll have to share one. Hopefully the rivers are bigger than they anticipated so they can refill their water supplies twice as fast on their journey.

Re: 1190: "Time"

I love how Megball can live, work, and play together for so long and only speak when they have something important to say. I don't know anybody who can walk with a friend or relation and not ramble endlessly. Props to Megball.

Yeah, and I don't think we're done with the castle either. I have full confidence all the eras and eons will be tied into a comprehensive storyline before the end of Time.

Re: 1190: "Time"

That's quite a tsunami from the calving of the rightmost castle component. Probably gonna wipe out the residual seawall by the next newpic.

Huh, I kinda figured she would cook up some kind of raft or dinghy thing with inflated bags so they could explore the seas.

Re: 1190: "Time"

If you toggle between the last 2 newpix, Megan seems to hang her head a little bit when she acknowledges Cueball's prediction, so that's a point against my theory (that he was talking about the ocean instead of the castle).

Re: 1190: "Time"

Part of me is a little uneasy about Cueball's last comment. I know "it" logically refers to the castle, but I still have this niggling feeling that he could mean the ocean is going to go away.

Re: 1190: "Time"

Hey everyone. Been lurking for a few days (not since the beginning of Time, sadly), and figured now's a good a time as any to register. I have a feeling we're in for a major plot development in the near future! I have about the most recent 30 pages under my belt, and I'm considering sweeping the who...
