If U hits W, it turns into a shootout between U and V. 6/9 of the time, V wins. 1/9 of the time, V misses and U hits, so V loses. 2/9 of the time, both miss so it repeats. Clearly, V is much more likely to win than U. If U misses (intentionally or not)... If V hits W, we get a similar shootout betw...

U notes that V and W prefer to shoot at each other, not him. If he doesn't hit one of them, he either gets the first shot at V or a chance to hit W. If he shoots one of them, either V has the first shot, which significantly hurts U's chances, or W just shoots him. Thus, U does best by making sure t...

U gets to start --> shoot W IF U Hits, then V will shoot U and U has 1/3 chance of survival *V will shoot U and might hit, might miss, just keep shooting untill 1 remains IF U Misses, then V will shoot W (because he's more of a threat than U) with a 2/3 chance of hitting him. *IF V Hits, U gets to s...

It could go on forever but you'd need a microscope to see it as the triangles get smaller..

I kinda ment the term for these figures and if there was a way to calculate how these figures form, like fractals.

infinitely small triangle

Not really a puzzle, but is there a mathematical formula/rule for the kinds of figures that become infinitely small? and does it apply to different shapes?

drew this up myself real quick, couldn't find one on the intarwub.
