Re: [Cluster]Clustering Multiple VPS for Torrent Server

This thread speaks a little bit about what I am imagining... http://hintsforums.macworld.com/archive/index.php/t-6889.html Except, instead of just chaining the drives together, having a master node that allows the user to toggle on or off new or old nodes and migrate the data accordingly is somethin...

Re: [Cluster]Clustering Multiple VPS for Torrent Server

Basically RAIDing a bunch of different volumes from different VPSs into one master filesystem that I can connect to in order to access all of the downloaded files. Plus, since all the VPS have different sized drives, it would allow all the VPSs to see one 'network drive' of the same size. I was thin...

[Cluster]Clustering Multiple VPS for Torrent Server

Hey guys. So I've been thinking a lot about an implementation for a torrent server to span across multiple VPS instances. I've been buying very cheap VPS services (<512MB Ram, 120GB>40GB Bandwidth) and setting up apaches servers and rtorrent instances across them. Most of them are about $0.8 to $2.5...

high DPI color is what I'm looking for... Would a laser be viable? Even if it matches the cost of an Inkjet, the waterproof is worth it.

At the moment it's about 27c a page.

Printer that has waterproof ink

Hey guys, my Mom runs a small business and we print our own labels. We have an inkjet printer right now (hp 2610). Good printer for the colors and such, but it's expensive for a variety of reasons. Mainly ink and that the pages it prints are not waterproof. We live in Hawaii, so if it rains or get m...

Re: iPod Touch Stuck in "Dock Connector"

I've actually figured it out for anyone looking into this further: It was a problem with the headphone jack. The part of it that detects if the headphones are plugged in or not malfunctioned. It's still intermittent, but for the most part I have it all worked out. The way I found this was to take th...

I fixed my problem. Here's what i did: Take a small screwdriver (flathead) and scrape the inside of the dock connector. Clean out any gunk. After that, it worked for me. Seems to just be a short or something. Thanks for your advice J the Ninja. Helped in the end, but it was actually attributed to th...

And yes, you are living in 2007 if you think DDR3 is shit. It was 400$ for 2GBs in 2007, and the CAS latency was upward of 20. DDR3 is GOOD

If you have a desktop, go for the Eee. It's lighter, more durable, and cheaper. With the extra money get some more RAM or another battery. Asus has some after market batteries that go up to 12 cells I think. Something really high.
